American Bright continues to expand their line of lighting class PLCC LEDs for the architectural market with the addition of a tri-white 5050 LED ideally suited for color tuning applications.

Chino, California August 4, 2016 – American Bright Optoelectronics Corp. today announced the addition of a tri-white (2700K, 4000K, 6500K) SMD LED with independently addressable color temperatures. The industry standard 5050 package (5x5mm) is footprint compatible with many off the shelf LEDs, and includes the ability to finely tune the output color temperature allowing for an infinite range of high quality CCTs, in a 5-step binning range, for architectural lighting products. Delivering as much as 130 lumens per watt (lpw) the new BL-5050X10x series will set the standard for versatile lighting class mid-power chips.

The series has a wide operating temperature range of -40c ~ +80c making it ideally suited for modern fixture designs that rely on less bulky thermal management solutions. Reducing the required thermal management components can lower overall fixture cost while providing additional design freedom to luminaire designers. The BL-5050X10x finds a design sweet spot between cost and performance unrivaled by similar devices today.

Utilizing an industry standard package also provides assembly process compatibility without having to invest in additional equipment. Most modern pick and place equipment is provisioned for the 5050 package and with a flat top surface, misplacements are nearly unheard of.

“We continue to innovate in the mid-power lighting class space,” George Lee, President of American Bright Optoelectronics Corp., noted. “We designed this LED package to support the growing trend toward luminaires that allow fine color tuning by the end user,” Lee added.
