Company-wide adoption of RoHS Pb Free materials and processes conformance is initiated with publication of test reports on all standard LED devices; encompasses power LED group to meet anticipated global environmental demands on newest emerging light source applications
Chino, CA V June 9, 2005 American Bright Optoelectronics has announced the adoption of all manufacturing processes and use of materials to conform to the requirements of the European Union's Restriction on the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronics Equipment (RoHS) Directive, 2002/95/EC. This program is in continuance of the U.S.-based organization and parent; Taiwan-based Bright LED Electronics' achieved programs for environmental responsibility and provision of the highest quality products worldwide that began in 2003. By the end of 2004, all LED products were certified to be in compliance with the new directives, achieved well ahead of the July 2006 deadline for manufacturers to meet these new guidelines. Included in the line-up of RoHS certified products are the latest power LED products group, including the 3-Watt, single-die NovaBrite(tm) Series, comprised of a complete light engine, a PCB mounted unit, or a discrete component (emitter), capable of high intensity output (60lm typical).
American Bright President, George Lee, stated, 'Our company management understands that compliance with this directive is necessary, not optional.' He further noted, 'For all to benefit in both the ecologically and morally responsible reduction of the use of hazardous substances, we have applied our most diligent efforts to achieve full compliance this early, and will continue to expand our focus in this area as new products emerge.'
