NOVALED: High Power PLCC up to 175mA with 120^o Viewing Angle

Chino, Calif., Oct. 01, 2003 - Introducing the new NOVALEDs feature high brightness in a wide range of color selections from 470nm to 625nm for such applications as Backlighting, Signage, Automotive and others. This new series is offered in today's most popular PLCC2 package with reliable quality assured by JEDEC Moisture Sensitivity Level 2. With such qualification they're ideal for strict environmental requirements. Driven at 50mA (InGaN) and 175mA (AlInGaP), intensity can reach up to 2850mcd with a wide viewing angle of 120 degrees. NOVALEDs are ideally suited for designs with requirements of high intensity, wide viewing angle, and space savings (6.0 x 6.0 x 1.5mm).

American Bright optimized the thermal management of NOVALEDs by selecting Copper as the thermal conductive material, shortening heat transfer distance to the solder point, and enlarging surface area with special design of lead frame.
