Transparent Substrate Intensifies Reflective Capabilities in Ultra-Bright AlInGaP LEDs Offering Brighter Illumination in Ambient Light 

BREA, Calif. - April 15, 2002 - Designed with a new transparent chip substrate material, American Bright's new Ultra-Bright AlInGaP TS LED Series introduces 30 percent brighter illumination over conventional LEDs, offering a low-cost display solution for instruments and outdoor displays that must function in ambient lighting conditions.

The new design's transparent substrate enables enhanced brightness through higher reflective capability, which results in an intensity of 6000 mcd over standard LEDs with 2000 mcd characteristics. Providing an excellent display solution for outdoor applications, the new series is available in Red and Amber. The Ultra-Bright LEDs can be mounted in surface mount (SMT) or through-hole configurations and are available in all industry standard packages including 3mm (T-1), and 5mm (T- 1 3/4). Surface mount models include PLCC, 1206, 1204, 0805, 0603, and 1210 industry-standard chip packages.
